06 How far in advance should I schedule my move?

We recommend scheduling at least two to four weeks in advance, especially during busy moving seasons. However, availability changes, and we will always do our best to accommodate last-minute requests.

07 What types of items can you move?

We move furniture, appliances, boxes, office equipment, electronics, commercial inventory, and many specialty items. Depending on the project, we can also assist with hot tubs, pianos, safes, antiques, medical equipment, and oversized belongings.

08 How is the cost of a move determined?

Pricing depends on factors such as distance, shipment size, access conditions, requested services, required labor, storage needs, and specialty handling. We provide free estimates so you can understand the expected cost before moving day.

Flexible scheduling, including certain evening and weekend moves, may be available depending on the size of the job, location, and crew availability. Contact us early to discuss your preferred timeline.

Prepare for Success With Five Star’s Packing Tips

A little preparation can make moving day faster, safer, and much less stressful.

01

Pack an essentials bag containing medications, toothbrushes, toiletries, chargers, clean clothes, and anything else you may need before your boxes are unpacked.

02

Wrap dishes, glasses, mugs, and other breakables carefully. Plates are often safer when packed vertically instead of stacked flat.

03

Place heavier belongings in smaller boxes or near the bottom of larger boxes to reduce shifting and help prevent damage.

04

Store screws, brackets, cords, remotes, and other small components in labeled bags so they remain with the item they belong to.

05

Take photos of your television, computer, and entertainment-system connections before unplugging them to make setup easier later.

06

Use vacuum-seal bags for out-of-season clothing, comforters, and bedding to reduce the amount of space they require.

07

When possible, arrive at your new home early enough to inspect and clean each room before furniture and boxes begin arriving.

08

Label each box with both its contents and destination room. Use clear labels on multiple sides so movers can identify it quickly.
